After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

High Stakes and Heavy Debates: The Week’s Most Talked-About X Posts

Welcome back to the weekly breakdown of the conversations that truly shook the internet. This week, we saw high-stakes political resignations, a massive shock in the world of African football, and yet another billionaire-led debate about how the country should run. Whether you're tracking international policy or just trying to figure out why your favorite team suddenly has a trophy they didn't win on the pitch, these were the posts that kept everyone refreshing their feeds.

The Resignation That Stopped the Clock

Former NCTC Director Joe Kent grabbed the top spot this week with a bombshell announcement: he’s stepping down, citing his inability to support the U.S.-led war in Iran. With over 73,000 replies and 100 million views, the post became an immediate battleground, drawing massive support from critics of current foreign policy and sharp rebuttals from those backing the administration's stance. It wasn't just a resignation; it was a manifesto that polarized the digital town square.

AFCON Chaos: From the Pitch to the Boardroom

In a bizarre twist that had football fans reeling, Fabrizio Romano reported that Morocco has been crowned AFCON winners after an official decision by CAF to strip Senegal of the title. With the final result overturned and Senegal handed a 3-0 forfeit, the comments section turned into an absolute chaos of disbelief, nationalist pride, and demands for transparency. It's the kind of sports drama that makes you wonder if the rules of the game are being written in real-time.

Musk’s Airport Gambit

Rounding out the list is Elon Musk, who once again weighed in on national infrastructure, this time offering to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during a government funding impasse. It’s the kind of move that either looks like peak philanthropic problem-solving or a classic tech-mogul publicity stunt, depending on who you ask. The replies show just how much of a lightning rod for debate Musk continues to be, even when he’s just talking about airport security lines. Which of these kept you typing the most? Let us know!
